Jonathan got a big ol’ man crush on Thor when the movie came out, and so we knew we needed to do this cosplay for the midnight release of The Avengers in May of 2012!
We were able to wear these to the midnight release in Hollywood at The El Capitan Theater… Jonathan won 2nd place in the costume competition! And we were also featured on the theaters website and the Marvel website… fun times!!
We made these costumes completely from scratch. The majority of the details were made from EVA foam. We cut out the pieces from the foam, and then used liquid cement on the foam while shaping it with a heat gun.. then we plasti-dipped the foam and spray painted it.Voila, foam armor!
We took the photos in Kettleman Hills, California – the same place we took the Trigun photos. I think they turned out great, and I am super happy to be playing a warrior chick this time!! Not to mention… isn’t my husband a sexy beast?!?! ^_^
This is really one of my favorites from you guys!
Yay!!! Thank you!
The Kids and I totally love this! and how you’ve made the costumes… wish I’ll learn how to make something like this. My 7-yr old daughter, who didn’t know at first that it’s Cosplay photoshoot, said that she thought Thor doesn’t wear a wedding ring … LOL!
You’re awesome!
Awwwww, I am writing this comment to my husband while he’s in boot camp, it would put such a smile on his face!!!
