Today marks the three month point in my husbands deployment. It has both gone by in a blink while simultaneously taken about a bazillion years to inch by.
When my husband left “on the big boat” as my kids put it, I began to keep a daily organizational journal. Its mostly a place to make meal plans, and to do lists, and chart fitness goals and progress. But there is one line for “Todays Positive Affirmation”.
I never really put too much stock into positive affirmations… until I hit the hard days of being a solo mom to three kids during the holidays. Depression, stress, responsibility.. shit got real, ya’ll. And suddenly, those affirmations didn’t seem so trivial or silly. (If you’re facing serious depression, please don’t hesitate to seek help. Talk to someone, contact your ombudsman or military chaplain, or find other outlets of stress management. For instance, did you know having an emotional support dog can help you cope with deployment?)
Here are the top ten positive affirmations I have found to be the most uplifting, empowering and helpful on this military fam journey of mine. Hopefully you will be inspired by one or two yourself!

Sooner or later, good things are going to happen! This is a wonderful post, Gingi.
Thanks Angie! <3
These are great affirmations Gingi! Very inspiring and positive!
It’s been a struggle being positive recently.. but I find these help TREMENDOUSLY!
Great affirmations for sure in a lonely difficult time. Saying them out loud really helps too.
Yeah, there’s actually a great app called “Think Up” where you can record affirmations in your voice… very helpful!
Gotta be tough being on your own with the kids while hubby is deployed, but sounds like you’re coping pretty well. He’ll be home before you know it, so hang in there!
I’m doing better than I thought i would, that’s for sure!
I never put any stock in positive affirmations until I did and MAN did it pay off. We are both living proof that Positive affirmations truly work. I’m dealing a death and am finding it difficult to stay happy and upbeat. I’ll be using some of these affirmations. 🙂
XOXO

I’m sorry to hear that.. and yeah, I’m the same! I didn’t really put much stock in them.. till I tried them!
I LOVE THESE!! I have so much respect for you and your husband! I can’t imagine how difficult it is at times for both of you. I have a husband who travels a lot for work so I really like your idea of using positive affirmations. There are definitely days where it all becomes too much and there is no one there to lean on but yourself. Those positive affirmations I am sure help! Thanks for sharing!
I am glad you found some of them useful! Yeah, going solo is no picnic… today I am giving myself and a day off so I can get back on top of things.. it’s rough!
It’s really not easy for spouse to be always away. Great thought, dear! xoxo

Thank you for these great quotes, Gingi. Man….you really put stuff in perspective. What your husband is doing is such a gift to your country and what you are doing holding the fort with the kids is also quite amazing. As the comment above said, wishing for a safe return.
Thank you Emmy, your words mean a lot! <3
What a wonderful post! Note to self!
I’m glad you enjoyed! <3
These are wonderful! Positive affirmations really do work, I just tend to find it difficult to do them when I’m down because they feel so fake. Thanks for sharing these.

I read somewhere that if you say them anyway, it helps to rewire your brain?? Not sure how true that is, but it’s a lovely thought nonetheless!
Those are great thoughts to focus on 🙂
They definitely help me get through the hard days!
These are such inspiring affirmations, Gingi! I especially like the first one. We often forget how strong we actually are and what we’re all capable of. We are enough! Hope you’re having a great weekend. XXX

That must be difficult to be separated like that for such extended periods.
