Alive! Alive! My Creation is Alive!! – Domestic Geek Girl in the Month of June

blogggggg

Since starting my Domestic Geek Girl blog a little over a year ago, I have not missed more than five days between posts. And then this past month happened. Buying our first house, moving years of accumulated junk, and sorting, cleaning, decorating, upgrading and otherwise –ing everything, I decided to take a one week break from Domestic Geek Girl.
And that one week kind of spiraled into three. But I’m back now! Did you miss me? No, wait, don’t answer that. If you say “yes” I’ll get a big head, and if you say no I’ll get depressed and go eat a cube of sweet chili cream cheese. (Have you tried that stuff, it’s sooooo good!)
Anyway, I have been busy busy BUSY. And when I get busy, and overwhelmed, I focus on teeny tiny things that need to be done. Like dusting. With a q-tip. (Wish I were joking here, but seriously, action figures have so many tiny spaces that dust can accumulate..)
To say that I am behind on posts is such an understatement that I kind of want to jump off the proverbial internet cliff and release myself from the misery. From book reviews, to product reviews, to subject requests from readers, to just keeping up with my life… I don’t even know where to start. I kind of feel like I owe you guys some grand re-opening speech or something. But then I feel like that’s a bit too pompous and self-absorbed, and then I scrap the idea.
So instead, I’ll just say: I’m back! And three weeks away has seriously helped me put some things in very much needed perspective. So here’s the conclusions I’ve reached in my three weeks of being blog-free:
  1. I am going to ease up on the product reviews. I love doing them, I get a lot of positive feedback from them, but they are slowly eating up the majority of my blog.
  2. I am going to blog more about my experiences and life as a mommy. I am learning so much and it is such a wonderfully fantastic journey. I started this blog to chronicle my new life as a mommy and a Navy wife, and I want to get back to that.
  3. Now that we are finally settled back into a home, and I have full access to my sewing, crafting and cosplay supplies, I am going to unleash my inner nerd with gratuitous cosplay and nerdy posts. Ye’ve been warned. Yarr.
And that’s about it! I have a bazilliondy things I’d like to post (and will post later this week).. Tessa’s first trip to Disneyland, Father’s Day at Bravo Farms, LOTS of product reviews and sponsor updates. So I will sprinkle them out as best I can in the following weeks.
Thanks for sticking around while I dropped off the radar. I don’t anticipate buying a new house again anytime soon, so no more random blackouts from me! Now… let the blogging commence!!

Oh how I missed you! I really was a free nap time moment away from hunting you down and forcing you to write something. Love your three step plan. I look forward as always to reading every word!

It’s good to be back… had I known that blogging would be like some kind of digital crack, I would have thought twice before starting one, haha…
