Week 5 of Boot Camp – My Navy Wife Journey Thus Far
7 July, 20130 Min Read
I was asked to write a guest post, with some Q&A’s on my time as a Navy Wife with a husband away in Boot Camp. If you know me, it’s all things I’ve droned on about before… but do check it out and make me smile! ^_^
Less than 4 weeks to go then! 🙂 I am excited for you! Reuniting is such a special time. No matter if it is training or a deployment, I always tear up during that first hug and kiss because it is so awesome having my other half again. It feels like falling in love all over again whenever he returns home. 🙂
Letters, letters, letters…write lots! After my grandmother died, I found the letters my grandfather had written to her while he was in the service (no idea what happened to the ones she wrote him) and I learned so much about them. You will cherish those letters, and pass them on to Tessa, too. I know in this age of instantaneous everything, we choose that over delayed interaction, but really, who keeps emails and texts for eternity?? Plus, to read them in his handwriting just made them that much more special.
Oh wow, that is so sweet!! And now I’m rather sheepish picturing my future granddaughter reading my letters.. I’m a raunchy bitch sometimes. “Give me the sex!!!!” <—- (things like that) hahahaha
That’s ok, it will show her who you *really* were, not just what she learns from the pictures. Think of what you’d love to really know about your great/great grandparents beyond those stern black and whites. 😉
Just as my daughter will never emit a bowel or gastrointestinal movement, I refuse to believe than my ancestors ever had sex. Or genitals, for that matter. 😉

Thank you for being a support to me through that hard time!!

*bursts out laughing*
Oh, I needed that laugh.
