Is it just me, or are more and more people are viewing TV shows on the web?
I can’t even remember the last time our family tuned in to an actual TV station to watch a program.. I think it was to watch the live results of the presidential election? (Not even joking!)
Between Amazon Prime videos, Netflix, and the Fire Stick, we usually watch our shows using these paid subscription outlets. But if you don’t want to fork over the cash for a subscription entertainment service, there are still TONS of places to watch quality TV online for free.
Enjoy this list of sites that offer FREE TV online! (And if I have forgotten or left out any good site, please let me know in the comment section below!)
Hulu
If you are looking for a specific show, Hulu is a great starting point to look. Hulu has a diverse collection of advertising-supported TV shows and movies, with a wide range of genres to choose from. From the latest episodes of the Simpsons to classics such as Alfred Hitchcock Presents, if you can’t find it on Hulu, you might not find it (free) elsewhere. Hulu requires Flash 9.0, but no special software. Note: Some of the entries are only clips, so make sure to look for full episodes / movies.
Fancast
Fancast is owned by Comcast Interactive Media and holds contracts with all of the major network stations. You’ll find episodes of Glee, House, Grey’s Anatomy, NCIS and hundreds of other new and old favorites. This site is easy to navigate and there is no confusion between full episodes/movies and previews/clips.
YouTube
YouTube has gone beyond user-submitted content and is now another option for you to watch TV, music videos, documentaries and more online. Most of the full episodes are more classic programming, so visit YouTube to enjoy favorites such as The Addams Family, Fantasy Island and Star Trek. No special player required.
ABC
ABC has full episodes of TV favorites such as Grey’s Anatomy and Desperate Housewives, as well as special features like interviews. Some of the episodes are in HD. The ABC shows require the download of a special media player.
NBC
The NBC website has full episodes of The Tonight Show, Community, and more than 20 others (click on “Watch Video”). There are also short summaries and special features. You can watch online without any extra plugins and some episodes can be downloaded as well.
FOX
“Fox on Demand” includes full episodes of The Simpsons, Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?, Bones and other Fox faves. You can also watch short clips, deleted scenes, and promos. The site requires the download of a special media player. (You can also check out Fox News to replay recent news clips!)
CBS
Visit CBS to find full episodes of shows such as Numb3ers, CSI and Two and a Half Men. There are also some great what-happens-after-they’re-voted-off scenes from Survivor. (My mom is ADDICTED to these!) You can watch the videos in your browser without a special download.
USA Network
USA doesn’t have a lot of shows, but there is plenty of quality. Watch full episodes of Psych, Monk and Burn Notice among others. No special browser is needed.
ABC Family
ABC Family shares full episodes of Greek, Pretty Little Liars and a variety of other shows. They also have a few movies. No special download required.
TBS
If you’re in the mood for a laugh, visit TBS for full episodes of Family Guy and Seinfeld. A special plugin is required to watch TV online on TBS.
PBS
Catch educational favorites such as Nova and Frontline, as well as more entertaining fare from Great Performances and Julia Child. No special player necessary.
TV Land
*sings* Take me to TV Laaaand! A visit to TV Land will take you back with full episodes of shows like Leave it to Beaver, The Jeffersons and The Beverly Hillbillies. No special player necessary.
HGTV
Watch full episodes of HGTV favorites, such as Curb Appeal, House Hunters and Designed to Sell. No special media player needed.
Crunchyroll
This website is all about anime! I survived on this website when my husband was in boot camp and I was pregnant with our first child… it was a great escape when we were apart for months. For fuller access to current animes and obscure favorites, a subscription is required, but there is plenty to choose for free viewing.
Veoh
Veoh is a video aggregating site. It’s a convenient way to watch episodes from all of the major network stations in one spot, as well as some movies and music videos. You’ll need to download and install a special media player.
Are there any free TV viewing sites I’ve forgotten to list? Share below!
A few times I’ve missed recording a tv show and found that I could watch it right from the shows website. I watched The Blacklist episode that was pre-empted by something on their website. Aside from so many commercials it was fine to watch that way. I used to have Netflix and had the 3 DVD’s at a time but I cancelled it because I’d rather watch cable.
We don’t do the DVDs when we do Netflix, we always just watch it streaming on the computer or TV!
Stinks in Canada because a lot of that time we get the whole “not available in your region” crap.
Oh man, I didn’t even think of that!!
Thanks for sharing all of these. I can’t think of any others. It is really nice when certain channels offer their shows for free online! 🙂
Lauren
Yeah, the future of television is shifting, thats for sure!!! 😉
Great post, dear!
Thanks!! <3
Fantastic list! I’d add Viki and DramaFever for Asian dramas!
Ohhhh, I’ve never even heard of those! Going to check them out now! <3
Great way to cut the cable bill unless you live with a sports fan.
Haha, no sports fans here, so we’re good! 😉
Data is very expensive in South Africa so we watch TV, rather than stream anything.
Oh wow, didn’t even think of that!
Youtube is my fave and i think some of it in the list can watch free online.
Great share!
Much Love,

Yeah, I’m amazed at what YouTube is offering these days!
I’ve been watching documentaries on Youtube. I didn’t realize there were a lot of other free sources for shows.
There’s documentaries on YouTube?!
I didn’t realize you were back to blogging!! I missed you very very very much Gingi I love watching you on Instagram and Facebook, you always crack me up. I’m with you on live tv. The commercials are so annoying if I have a chance to bypass all that crap why not. I’m addicted to Netflix right now, I find series with 5-7 seasons and dig in for the long haul. I just rediscovered HGTV recently, man oh man it’s addicting.
LOL, you silly goose, I said I was on one of your blog post comments!!! I still stalk your blog and Instagram too, haha! <3
I think this list is going to keep me very busy!
Awesome! Glad you like!
I hardly have the time nor patience to watch movies… once I get to start watching a movie, I sleep off

Great list of websites – I have not heard of most of them but will definitely check them out! I am watching a lot on YouTube – such a fabulous service!
Yeah, my kids actually ask to watch “YouTube” instead of asking for TV haha!
I canceled my cable years ago, best decision ever. This a great and there are some new ones here for me. The only problem is many of them are US only. I can’t access all in Canada.
That’s what another commenter said, how sad!
Great list, thanks. It can be tough finding shows to enjoy when I have time to watch TV.
Haha, my husband and I usually have a “what do we watch” TV stare down once a month or so. 😉
I don’t watch much t.v. these days. I either typically use the t.v. just for movies on the weekends, that’s about it. Other than that, I’m always on my phone or computer watching YouTube videos. Thanks or sharing these other sources, girl. I’ll have to share this with my step-daughter, she’d love to know!
XO,
Jalisa
Glad you can share it!! <3
This is such a useful list! I also haven’t watched TV in the traditional sense in years…
It’s def on the way out!
I know HULU and Crunchyroll but they’re not available in my country. I wish I could access these sites. We only have Netflix, iFlix, and Viu here

Despite being seriously addicted to books, I’m a movie and television fan. I think it has to do with me being into pop culture and trivia so much. I have Chromecast, Netflix, Firestick, Cable and now Direct Now. Direct Now lets you stream without actually subscribing to Direct TV. Their rates at $50, $60 & $70, but you need to have an Internet subscription to take advantage of it. You can even use your existing firestick. Love that you share all this good info on FREEbies! Hugs…RO
WHOA, you have got the hook ups!! haha!!!
Fantastic list Dear:)
kisses
Thanks sweetie!
how timely! we just cancelled our money-sucking cable! i’m scared and excited. 🙂
I would love to visit these sites for watching TV online 🙂 Great! Thanks for sharing <3
