WonderCon, WonderCon, WonderCon!!! (Or as we like to call it, San Diego Comic Conโs mini me!)
WonderCon is literally the sister show to San Diego Comic Con International, embracing all the main aspects of that show, including comics, movies, TV, animation, the Masquerade, and more.
As Comic Con gets harder and harder to attend, with tickets going the way of Blizzcon (freaking impossible to come by), WonderCon has also grown over the recent years to absorb the spill over of disgruntled geeks like myself who didnโt manage to score tix.. as a result there are TONS more attendees, more exhibitors, more programming, and more fun!
When I first started attending WonderCon, it was based in San Francisco, which was fun, except for my uncanny ability to be robbed / chased by homeless men in the bay area. (I am actually not joking, this is a thing with me and San Fran.) But in 2012, WonderCon up and moved to Anaheim. RIGHT. ACROSS. THE. STREET. FROM. DISNEYLAND.
Disney and Comic Con?!! Yes, please!!!!!!
This year we scored an epic room at The Residence Inn, right on the convention grounds along Hotel Way, just walking distance from the convention AND Disneyland. After bullying our neighbors (who also happen to be huge geeks and cosplayers.. how lucky are we?!) into coming with us, we spent a fun weekend of hotel room after party fun, daytime WonderCon shenanigans and a grand finale of Disneyland and Downtown Disney dining.
This year I also got to fulfill my lifelong fantasy of having a hot husband who looks like David Bowie and an adorable son that looks like Toby dressing up in a family Labyrinth cosplayโฆ I dressed as Sarah and my girls were Hoggle and The Worm! Check out the images below for some photos of my handsome husband and son and gorgeous girls being AMAZE-BALLS at the con!
I will be following up with some more WonderCon posts, but in the meantime, check out some highlights of this years best cosplays and sights at Wondercon 2018!

Wonderful family photos. All the cosplayer costumes are amazing. The Eldest is excited to be going to Anime Pittsburgh next weekend with a friend she made from work. I forgot to ask who she was dressing up as.
Oh cool!! You should ask what the costume will be, I’d love to know!

You have noooooo idea!!!!
I love, love, love that you were able to check this out AND dress up! I went to the New York Comicon years ago, and it was so enjoyable. I’m an action figure girl, and have the toys to prove it. My fave is still Batman, but I actually have so many of them I can create a city.(lol) Add to that my love of the movies and I’m in my happy place. I’m bookmarking this page so I can come back and visit it over and over again, because your pictures are phenomenal! Hugs…RO
