I’m back with more ways to pamper your car… yay!!!
You guys know I haven’t been able to shut up about my new Town and Country ever since I bought it last fall, and I have been exhausting myself equipping my vehicle with the BEST products on the market, and doing an embarrassing amount of research to find the best emergency kits, cleaning supplies, accessories and so on. Well guess what?! I have more car improvement and upgrady goodness to share!! (Yay? Hehe!)
In my quest for car maintenance upgrades, I stumbled upon a set of windshield wipers that the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) has named as its Official Wiper Blade… the Scrubblade. I did some online comparison shopping, and mom bloggy researching, and by the time I was through, I knew I needed to try these blades out, and share them with you lovely folks!
About Platinum Scrubblades
From the Scrubblades website (CLICK HERE to visit!):
SCRUBBLADE DOES WHAT NO OTHER WIPER CAN: SCRUB AND CLEAR!
Most windshield wipers are built with only a single squeegee blade. And no scrubbers. They can push water, but anything more substantial is smeared onto the windshield reducing visibility. This is not only frustrating but can be dangerous. Scrubblade wiper blades wipe out the competion!
Scrubblade is the only wiper blade designed to cut through more than just water. It does this using our patented 2-part cleaning system. The true innovation comes from tiny triangular scrubbers designed to cut through debris for a cleaner, particle-free windshield. The inside trailing blade removes remaining water and debris for a substantially better wipe.
More about the Platinum Scrubblade:
With all the scrubbing power of the standard Scrubblade, the Platinum features a rubber covered frame for optimum performance during ice and snow buildups, a low profile to prevent wind lift, nano graphite coating for quieter, smoother wipes and additional adapters to cover over 98% of all vehicles on the road.
My Thoughts on the Platinum Scrubblade
I was excited to get these blades in the mail right in time for the rainy season here in Central California. It hasn’t been raining as much as it usually does this time of year, but it’s still coming down enough to wreak havoc, as evidenced by the midnight torrent that brought our backyard tree crashing down last week. (Fun times!)
Since receiving these windshield wiper blades, I have had a chance to give them a good initial run, so I am excited to share my thoughts with ya’ll! First off: Installation.
I actually pulled the dumb girl card and had my husband come out to put the blades on for me while I “took pictures” (code for, you do it). It was actually kind of funny, because the wipers were so easy to put on, and went on so quickly, that I actually missed how he did it! So he unclipped it, and then with one hand, “snap!” they were on again! So installation: STUPID EASY. That’s already a huge plus.
Now, visually, there is a HUGE difference between the factory blades versus the Scrubblades. The factory blade is a thin, single blade while the Scrubblade is wide, thick, textured and features a double blade per wiper. The sheer size difference allows for much fuller coverage on the window.
My single blade factory wiper set from Chrysler. Not unhappy with the perfomance, but always open to finding something better, more advanced, and more efficient!
The Platinum Scrubblade.. like, whoa. Look at the size of that wiper! (Size does matter??) WANT!
But how do they perform? I have to say, they do not disappoint in performance and I am thrilled with the upgrade HOWEVER, one of my Scrubblade wipers leaves a water streak right over the drivers side window. After a closer inspection, it seems like the streak is coming from the portion of the blade that was exposed for the “feel / see the difference” cutout window in the packaging… the rubber is slightly bent inward on that section. I used my finger to manually push the dual rubber blades apart, and the streak lessened, so I am GUESSING that once the blades mellow out a bit (probably with warmer weather) that section of the wiper will begin to perform flawlessly. (Update: The tiny streak appears to be going away with regular use.. my theory = correct!).
The biggest difference in these blades versus my old factory set (aside from improved / increased windshield coverage) is the ability to push debris – bugs, mud and gunk – off the windshield without leaving unsightly smears. Worth the money? My verdict is yes!

Having good wipers for heavy rain is a must. Here in the desert it doesn’t rain often, but yesterday it surprised us with lots of rain.

This post is funny because I just realized I needed new windshield wipers. Mine are horrible which is very dangerous when driving. I need these Scrubblades ASAP. So happy to hear they are easy to install! i’m positive I still have factory blades on my car and since I got it in 2014 it’s time for a change. Thanks for sharing Gingi! 🙂
OMG, since 2014?!?! No wonder you need new ones!! haha!
As usual, your photo’s are phenomenal. I mean, the product looks great, but you made the Scrubblade look cute. Who is able to do that? I hope you are getting paid $100 an hour for your photography efforts because you are worth it! And I’ve read that is just the base price!
Hahaha, they’re just snapshots of windshield wipers….? But thanks! Haha! 😉
Great post and very interesting, good wipers are especially important here this week! Mine always seem to disintegrate after months of triple digit summer heat and need replacing every rainy season.
Yeah, I’d read that they tend to break down in summer heat, which is why they are recommended to replace in the fall!
These sound like great windshield wipers! Thanks for sharing Gingi!
For sure, thanks for stopping by! <3
