Red Sandalwood Watch from Woodie Specs

DSC_0998
Back when Jonathan and I were just friends – in that awkward liking each other, but too shy to come clean about our feelings stage – Jonathan had a wrist watch that he wore every single day.
Being in the throes of romance, I of course reverted to juvenile flirting tactics, like poking at Jonathan’s watch for an excuse to get close to him. (*gasp!* I touched his hand! Be still my heart!) Long story short, before we’d ever exchanged those first faltering “I love yous”, I had broken Jonathan’s watch. Like.. straight up broke his watch with excessive fiddling and aggressive wrist poking flirtations.
Being a little embarrassed (make that horrified) that I broke my crushes favorite wrist watch, I fell all over myself promising to replace his watch.
Fast forward to today. Over half a decade and two children later, and I finally started thinking about, ya know, actually replacing the broken watch. Haha!
While researching watches and looking for something unique, handmade and truly one-of-a-kind, I discovered the company Woodie Specs, which specializes in handmade wooden watches and sunglasses! These folks were kind enough to send me their red sandalwood watch to review.. and to, ya know, help me replace the run of the mill plastic watch I broke so many years ago. 😉

More About the Watch

This handmade analog red sandalwood watch is made with high quality 100% natural red sandalwood from raw materials, and it came in a beautiful wooden box. Every watch by Woodie Specs is original because no two pieces of wood are exactly the same. It’s truly a work of art!
The watch comes with plenty of links in the wrist, so it fits pretty much anyone – you simply remove links to make the watch fit as needed (the thought of stealing the watch from my husband HAS crossed my mind, haha) and while it’s designed for men, it would make a snazzy fashion statement when worn by a woman! (Especially when paired with some wooden sunglasses!)
My husband loves this watch.. it really does make an amazing gift and has proven to be a great conversation starter! It gets a lot of comments and turns a lot of heads. I’d say it’s a worthy replacement for the broken wristwatch of pre-dating days, what do you think?

It’s a very handsome watch for your husband! My husband and I don’t wear watches, but that one is very special or gorgeous. It looks better than metal and plastic ones.

It’s BEAUTIFUL! Also, I think it’s kind of adorable that you broke his watch because you were flirting so much. Ah, young puppy love. 😉

Wow,this watch is amazing, I love the look of it. I love their glasses too, such a great alternative to plastic. They have a very “beachy” feel to them, which I really like.
