Doctor Who Original Art Tardis Tote Bag Giveaway

My husband and I are currently having a Doctor Who marathon. We’re just barely on the 11th Doctor. Amelia Pond just decided to travel with The Doctor. And something about.. Daleks pretending to be British? And.. oh god, oh god, oh god, MORE WEEPING ANGELS?!?! What the frak?!

Now I know I’ve gone on record as saying that I’m not a Doctor Who fan, but after watching episodes, ya know, actually in order.. okay, dammit I am.. kind of.. sort of.. a Doctor Who fan now. *mumble mumble* SHUT UP. None of this “I told you so” crap. I get enough of that from Jonathan, sheesh!

Why the sudden confession of conversion to the Whovian dark side? Weeeeell, I’m glad you asked!

I have the great privilege of partnering with Usagianddarien in launching a Doctor Who Tardis Tote Bag giveaway! I know the majority of my blog posts have been heavy on the “domestic” side, and somewhat lacking on the “geek” factor recently, so consider this giveaway a formal apology. ^_^

More On Usagianddarien

Usagianddarien is essentially a purveyor of original geeky themed artwork – ranging from Doctor Who to Hunger Games to Adventure Time – all on functional canvases, such as Converse sneakers, high heels and flats (though art on plain ol’ paper is available as well).

A sample of Usagianddarien’s Converse sneaker Doctor Who art.

Usagianddarien’s Etsy shop is run by artist Tonya McCullough, who is a fellow cosplayer and domestic geek! She is a mother of four beautiful children, one of which is autistic. She makes her art from her home on a workbench that her husband handmade her. I asked Tonya to send me some photos of her work space, because spouse made workshops just reek of nerd romance and I eat them up like candy. Check it out:

Anyhoo, Tonya’s drawing hobby also serves to help with expenses for her family and helps her cover expenditures while getting through Graduate School.  Tonya will be student teaching this semester, so her geeky chic art is currently her sole source of side income. She takes special orders, so if you’re looking for a great gift for a special someone (Valentines Day is coming up! *wink wink nudge nudge*), go check out her shop! And let her know I sent you!

Now on to the giveaway!

Tonya is offering to one lucky winner, one of her original hand painted Doctor Who Tardis Tote Bags. The bag is made of sturdy, nonwoven polyester and measures 14 1/2″ X 16 1/2″ with 12″ handles. (It’s roughly the size of a reuseable grocery bag, without the flat bottom.)

Each bag from Tonya’s Etsy shop is individually hand painted with acrylic paint and sealed with acrylic paint sealer. Since every art piece from Usagianddarien is individually hand painted by Tonya, no two are ever the same!

Good luck! Winner will be announced in 7 days! Well… somewhere around there. You know… wibbly wobbly, timey wimey.. stuff.

About time Gingi! Welcome to the land of Whovians!
I love all the Rose and Amy Pond episodes. They are my favorite companions! Clara and I don’t mesh well yet. Sure, she bakes and all, but I just am meh about her.

    • 24 January, 2014 at 2:57 pm

I like that Rose got her own little Doctor clone. Soooo, does that mean the Doctor had the hots for Rose, or what???

  • 23 January, 2014 at 7:05 pm

I just finished watching the episode where Amelia totally jumps the Doctor.. I was pretty much shouting “WHORE!!!” at the TV screen at like midnight last night, haha!

  • 23 January, 2014 at 7:53 pm

I love Dr. Who! 10 was my fave Dr.

  • 23 January, 2014 at 11:05 pm

These bags are so cute! I would love to rock my nerd style with them.

  • 24 January, 2014 at 1:19 am

Absolutely agree that the 10th Doctor was the best! I may be biased though. (totally have a man-crush)

  • 24 January, 2014 at 4:21 am

I LOVE Dr.Who. I’ll miss Matt, like I missed David, and the many before and I’m excited for this new incarnation. It’s gonna be awesome.

  • 24 January, 2014 at 4:32 am

Did you watch any of David Tennant’s seasons! ? What did you think of him!??

  • 24 January, 2014 at 9:20 am

I have only seen a few eps of Doctor Who, and since there are so many other things I watch, I just don’t know how’d I squeeze in another fandom. Too bad I didn’t look into it back when there was nothing worth watching on tv. Funny thing, on Red Eye tonight, they were making comments on the Planet Hillary magazine cover and they referenced one of the eps I did see (about a future alien who was just skin?). Funny!

    • 24 January, 2014 at 2:58 pm

ROFL thats too funny! MOISTURIZE ME! MOISTURIZE ME!!!

  • 24 January, 2014 at 2:15 pm

Oh my goodness there are soooooo many! Blink is one of my favorite episodes – One of my favorite lines from Captain Jack – “They called me the ‘Face of Bo” – because it explained so much about the future of that character. Dr #10 is my favorite – however #11 had some really awesome episodes.

    • 24 January, 2014 at 2:59 pm

Yeah, that was pretty funny.. like, lightbulb going off moment… I hear Jack gets his own spin off series in Torchwood?!

  • 24 January, 2014 at 5:25 pm

This is great love Dr who

  • 24 January, 2014 at 5:43 pm

I didn’t follow instructions lol. I have a few fav episodes. Doomsday I cried like a baby at the end. The weaping angels one was excellent. Then there was the adapose babies made of human fat. They were adorable lol

  • 24 January, 2014 at 6:15 pm

    “Bow ties are cool.”

    Those shoes are awesome!

  • 24 January, 2014 at 7:45 pm

“900 years of time and space, and I’ve never met anyone who wasn’t important.”
I just love that quote, especially if I’m feeling low.

  • 24 January, 2014 at 7:54 pm

The episode withheld Adipose guys! Weird that they’re actually adorable. Really any episode with David Tennet!

    • 25 January, 2014 at 3:06 pm

LOL, while watching that episode I was like, “Is it weird that I think those guys are.. I dunno… cute?” lol

  • 25 January, 2014 at 5:46 am

I love all of your artwork 🙂

    • 26 January, 2014 at 3:58 am

      thank you Jesus G 🙂

  • 25 January, 2014 at 6:17 am

I don’t watch Dr Who. My DIL is a huge fan and would love this bag!

  • 25 January, 2014 at 8:24 am

    These are so awesome 😀

  • 25 January, 2014 at 8:39 am

Again, totally lame and didn’t realize it was about the favorite episode. I think my favorite is the empty child, we first get to meet Captain Jack Harkness, and the whole thing is amusing and terrifying at the same time. It was also funny to see 10 reference it later on.

  • 25 January, 2014 at 4:46 pm

Great artwork… throw in some Weeping Angels or maybe the Vashta Nerada, too! WOO!

  • 25 January, 2014 at 5:31 pm

i love love dr. who all-around, but i think my favorite moment was learning about river song & her connection to the doc! 🙂 thanks for the great giveaway!

  • 25 January, 2014 at 5:41 pm

  • 26 January, 2014 at 2:47 am

Favorite episode would be Blink the concept was really cool, and lots of fun quotes!!!^_^

  • 26 January, 2014 at 5:12 am

    Silence in the Library… 0_-

  • 26 January, 2014 at 5:30 am

I don’t have a favorite episode per se but my favorite Doctor was Tom Baker!!!

  • 26 January, 2014 at 4:36 pm

I am totally new to all of this, but from what I have seen so far, I would have to say the Weeping Angels are my favorite…and yet, not my favorite. I’m not sure that sentence makes much sense, but I’m pretty sure you know what I am saying. 🙂

  • 27 January, 2014 at 4:30 pm

Doctor Who!!! My favorite moment in Doctor Who is probably the episode with number nine and “are you my mummy” When the Doctor says “Everybody lives, for once, everybody lives” It had such a happy ending. Your art work is wonderful, wish converse fit my feet, but alas…my foot is waaayyyy to narrow! Please check out our Etsy shop: Timetravelingties. Good luck with your student teaching and grad work..been there, done that, got the t-shirt. Then stayed home with my four children! Allons-Y

  • 27 January, 2014 at 8:26 pm

Doomsday is my favorite episode of all time

  • 28 January, 2014 at 3:55 am

Fav moment: from the Christmas special, when Matt Smith and David Tenant have the same glasses.

  • 28 January, 2014 at 11:06 pm

Love Doctor Who! And Im loving those shoes!

  • 29 January, 2014 at 9:25 pm

The weeping angels have always freaked me out. But I guess my favorite episode that’s sad is when the doctor burns up a planet to say goodbye to rose, and she doesn’t even get to hear that he loves her.

  • 30 January, 2014 at 4:04 am

I personally LOVE the doctor and his wife.

  • 30 January, 2014 at 4:37 am

I’m too indecisive to chose any one part, scene or moment.
