Day One on the South Beach Diet!

Okay everyone, it’s go time!!!

I know I have mentioned a number of times that I am going to be doing the South Beach Diet with the New Year… well, today is DAY ONE! *does a little happy dance*

While I had initially planned to prepare 100% DIY meals from scratch following recipes from the South Beach Diet cookbooks, I am now SUPER excited to announce that I am teaming up with the South Beach Diet and giving their pre-made meal plans a go!

(Forgive the cell phone snapshots, my camera was all packed away to head out to an engagement photoshoot, and I was on the go!! I promise prettier pictures next time. ;-P )

I was excited before, but when a gi-normous box yummy food arrived on my front porch, I was through the roof giddy to get started. Is is normal to be this excited to go on a diet?! Haha. I am not even having the pre-diet doubts and jitters, this mountain of delicious looking food is making me EAGER to get going!

Why Did I Choose the South Beach Diet?

There is a reason over 11 million people have chosen the South Beach Diet for weight loss. Put quite simply.. it works! I had first learned of the South Beach Diet when I met my husband. I needed to lose some weight, and he had mentioned that his mom lost a lot of weight on this diet, and that the food was real and tasty. We both started cooking recipes from the South Beach Diet cookbook and without even trying or paying much attention to our fitness, we both lost all of our excess weight within months.

After I had my second daughter, I made a point of eating more real, raw foods (but did not follow any kind of diet) and I began getting back into a health weight range.. but then I got pregnant again! And this last pregnancy.. whew! Let’s just say, I let myself go with the cravings and the desire to not move, ever.

So now, after three kids and not losing the baby weight between pregnancies, and eating out at fast food restaurants almost every meal… well, let’s just say I need to get serious about my weight loss. Click on my “cosplay” tabs and take a scroll through my cosplay costumes. I weighed about 125 to 130 pounds in all those pictures. Now? I am weighing in at 202 pounds. (I know, sad, right?!)

But I am done have kids, and I am determined to lose the weight, and KEEP it off now that my little family is complete! I know that South Beach WORKS, and it works fast, and painlessly and overall, it is healthy and good for you! Will you guys help keep me accountable as I embark on this FINAL weight loss journey?

How the South Beach Diet Meal Plan Works

You start off the diet on Phase 1 – a seven day body reboot designed to let you see results in your first week. The meals allow you to burn fat and transform your metabolism with a high-protein low-carb plan. After that, you transition into Phase 2, a less strict eating plan (although, in all fairness, Phase 1 doesn’t seem all that strict, when all the food is delicious!).

When you sign up for the program online (CLICK HERE to check it out!), you receive four weeks worth of delicious, fully prepared South Beach Diet entrees, snack bars and shakes, taking the meal prep and guesswork out of your new diet! It really is redunkulously easy.

While on the diet, you eat six times a day. You enjoy wholesome, delicious meals and snacks that are high in lean protein, with heart-healthy fats and good carbs from fruit, vegetables and whole grains. You never feel hungry. AND!!!!

You can lose up to 9 pounds and 3 inches in your first 2 weeks!

Do you see why I am so excited?! So keep an eye on my blog in the coming months! I will be tracking my journey with the South Beach Diet and I would love it if you joined me in this wild ride! <3 <3 <3

I have heard of the South Beach Diet but have never tried! Good for your MIL loosing weight on it!!! Having had 3 kids myself and pushing 40, it’s tough, like almost impossible to loose weight. I’m been doing Tae Bo with Billy Blanks because he’s such an inspirational Christian, but I can’t do the one in which he’s wearing the blue spandex. I mean, ewwww. Eating 6 times a day sounds great to me! I’m looking forward to reading about your weight lose.

No, it’s not sad, girl you just had a baby!!! You had three and I think you look phenomenal considering that they’re all so close in age. However, I do totally understand the desire to want to get back to pre-baby weight because you’re used to seeing yourself a certain way and feeling different in that body. I’ve been there and I’m still there. But hey, we’re awesome because we’re baby making machines, haha! Anyway, I know you will kill it with this diet and get back to your pre-baby weight. It sounds like a great program and I’m rooting for you. Do keep us posted on how it works and how you like it!

Winky could probably use that diet, but he’d probably eat all that food on the first day.
