If you’ve been following my blog for awhile, you know that I am a glass bottle junkie. I have blogged extensively in the past about switching to glass for drink and food storage, for cooking, for baby bottles… seriously, I’m a wee bit obsessed.
I’m always on the prowl for new kitchen and lifestyle gadgets that may just up the whole living green and clean game, and so when I stumbled upon EAF Products Eveau Glass Water Bottles with SUPER reinforced silicon sleeves to prevent breakage, I was immediately smitten and reached out to the wonderful folks at EAF to request a sample bottle to check out and share with you folks.

The Eveau glass water bottle might be for you if you are concerned about breaking your bottle while on the go.
This is personally my biggest concern with glass bottles on the go. I have broken MANY a glass bottle (mostly my kids glass baby bottles) over the years, and some from seemingly innocent drops like rolling off a bench or small table onto hardwood, and it’s NO FUN! (Especially when you’re out in public and you’re standing over a glass explosion of your making… oops.) So the idea of a bottle with the health and taste benefits of glass without the stress and worry of breakage really got me perked up.
Here is the evolution of the Eveau Glass Water Bottle, as told by it’s creator! (You can read the original story straight from the website, by CLICKING HERE):
I believe products should be built to last, so I thought there must be a better way. I looked at the silicone sleeves that come with some bottles, but they were all too thin to give it significant protection.
I found a manufacturer willing to create a custom silicone sleeve to my specifications. I designed it with a huge 10 mm (0.4”) bottom cushion. The bottom cushion would soften the blow if the bottom lands first; the most likely scenario. But what if it landed on it’s side? It would be too bulky to cushion the entire bottle, and it would also be too wide to fit a car’s cupholder (or be a narrow bottle with small capacity). I like to take water bottles with me everywhere, even just going to the grocery store, so that was just too big a compromise.
Then I realized that most falls are onto a flat surface like a floor or sidewalk, and by adding a rim cushion I could protect the entire bottle when it falls onto a flat surface.
My undergraduate degree is in physics. Although I never worked in the field (you generally need a PhD for that), I always retained my love of science. And as any scientist knows, you have to test your hypothesis.
So now I have my improved design, but will it work well in the real world? It needed to be tested, so that is exactly what I did. The short clip below shows the Eveau water bottle with the Bumperguard protective sleeve being dropped from a height of 70” (1.75meters) onto concrete, the most unforgiving surface. Watch it bounce!

In addition to the nigh unbreakable design, the water bottle also feature user-friendly design, such as:
- Comfortable 2 finger carry handle makes it easy to take with you, even on a hike.
- Calibrated view windows on the back so you know how much is left in the bottle.
- The 2.9″ (7.37cm) diameter base fits most car cup holders.
- Dishwasher safe.
- The lids are BPA free.
My Thoughts on the Eveau Glass Water Bottle
Within a week this has become my go to water bottle for when I’m on the run and on the go. If I’m going to be in and out of the car, active or juggling an armful of toddlers while trying to remain hydrating, I’m bringing one of these bottles along!
The bottom cushioning is really intense and honestly the pictures don’t really do it justice, it’s a reinforced bottom that you can FEEL and it lends some sorely needed peace of mind, especially if you’ve ever had to replace glass bottles from drops in the past.

I do still favor my “statement” glass bottles for drinking at home or in my office (basically anything that makes me look like a medieval alchemist witch woman or a divine yogi is my drinking vessel of choice when I’m not having to worry about breakage), but if I didn’t have a good, safe, effective option for glass on the go, I wouldn’t be nearly as hydrated as I’ve been these last few weeks. And if I know my kids are going to be around, and stealing my drink (like kids do) then I feel MUCH better having one of these babies around for the toddler to stagger around with.

This product definitely DID NOT disappoint. Big thanks again for the folks at EAF Products for letting me give their product a whirl so I can share with you all you lovelies in the blogosphere. Hope this product fills a need / void for some of you! 😉
Do you drink from glass bottles? Think you’d give a break-proof sleeved glass bottle a try? Let me know in the comments below!

The water bottle sounds very practical!
Yeah, my kids have taken them over… lol. They think they’re theirs now!

Hi Gingi 🙂
I have a glass water bottle but mine has never broken. I can totally see it happening. there’s nothing worst then the sound of hearing a bottle break, everyone looks around and starts staring at me. Not fun.

Yeah, had that happen a few time with baby bottles.. no fun!
That’s a really good simple idea. It’s hard to beat glass for being able to properly sanitize it.
Yup and no chemical leakage!
Love these bottles with safety features! xoxo
Me tooooooo!
What a great idea! I love that the sleeve makes it a lot safer to have around kids 🙂
Hope that your weekend is off to a great start! The cyclone that may have impacted us has moved further offshore which is good news, but we will still have a quiet weekend in case it comes back!

OMG a cyclone?!??!?! Okay, so your life is by far more exciting than mine! lol
That sounds like a great product. I’ve always been afraid to try glass water bottles because I drop my bottles so often, but this looks like a great option.

Wish I read this a week ago when I gave up on a glass bottle with good protection sleeve around it.
You officially have my permission to go buy one of these, lol
I can’t believe I’ve never tried a glass water bottle before! Thank you Gingi for your insight on this!
Whhhaaaaaat??!?!? Really?!
Ah yes I had a bottle similar to this that I use to use at work. It was great as I did drop it once and did not break. It is also somewhat easier to grip
