If you’re in the market to replace wasteful paper towels and bacteria-ridden sponges with beautiful, reusable, and compostable paper towel sheets, then you’ve got to check out Papaya Reusable Paper Towels.
Why Papaya? Aside from the various designs (with some awesome summer décor options, like the “Squeeze the Day” design I have in my kitchen, pictured above), here are some “whys” for Papaya towels:
– 1 sheet replaces 17 ROLLS of paper towels!
– They’re all-natural
– They are anti-bacterial
– Each sheet is compostable
– They are gorgeous!
These sustainable paper towels are made from a combination of two natural materials: 70% cellulose and 30% cotton – both of which are renewable resources. This also makes them 100% compostable and biodegradable, so you can throw them in your compost bin at the end of their lifecycle and start a new one guilt free.
Plus, Papaya offers the world’s first Reusable Paper Towel Subscription, where you can customize your own box from their curated selection of designs, and have them conveniently delivered to your door every 2, 3 or 4 months.
From the Papaya website (CLICK HERE to visit!):
“Unlike dish towels, these zero waste paper towels are all natural, antibacterial (so they don’t get that mildew smell) and even compostable! They’re also way more absorbent than average towels which tend to just move the mess around. Would you reach for a kitchen towel to clean an oil spill? Probably not, because you’d have to throw it straight in the laundry! With reusable paper towels, you can get down and dirty like a paper towel, then just rinse out the mess and hang to dry!
And unlike dish towels, wash cloths or sponges that tend to stay damp for hours, our eco friendly paper towels dry so quickly they don’t allow time for bacteria to breed (especially when hung on the Papaya hook!). This means no more mildewy dishcloth smell! Plus, the ultra absorbent material doesn’t just move the mess around. It actually absorbs all the icky bacteria, germs and pathogens from your surface and transfers them to the waste water when cleaned.“
As a huge fan of Norwex cleaning cloths, I was curious to see how these would hold up. While they don’t have the scrubbing power of a Norwex enviro-cloth, these little guys are very absorbent and are great for regular, everyday use. To clean the cloths, a good old fashioned hand-wash with soap and water does the trick, and for a deeper clean, either throw them in your washing machine and allow them to air dry – or, place them on the top rack of the dishwasher during a cycle!
Not bad, yeah?! If you’re in the market for some reusable environmentally friendly cloths, CHECK THESE OUT!
