I’ve been talking a lot recently about aiming to be 1% better every single day. I’m not speaking from the perspective of someone who has it all figured out, I’m speaking for the perspective of a busy work-from-home homeschool mother of three who is still figuring out what works for me, my family and our unique and individual goals.
One area I struggle in – and I mean, REALLY struggle in – is starting and maintaining a workout routine that I actually enjoy and stick to long term. I’ve had success in isolated bursts over the nine years since having children, but I am ready to start practicing what I preach (and what is working so well in other areas of my life) and start taking steps to be 1% better every day in the area of fitness.
Ultimately, even as I have 50 pounds I still need to lose, I believe that small steps CAN make a huge difference in your fitness journey. Speaking from past and pre-baby fitness efforts, I know that many people believe that in order to get in shape, you need to hit the gym for hours on end, but that’s simply not true. In fact, you can start with something as simple as a 15-minute stretching routine and still see results towards your fitness and wellness goals.
Stretching is one of the most underrated forms of exercise, but it offers countless benefits. For example, stretching can help improve your flexibility, reduce muscle tension, and increase blood flow to your muscles. Plus, it’s a low-impact activity that’s perfect for people of all fitness levels. It also works marvels for your mindset when you are choosing to do something physical, and you actually DO IT. These small successes pump you up for bigger ones down the road.
If you’re looking for a great way to start incorporating stretching into your daily routine, I highly recommend the Bodi Fitness XB Stretch 30-day challenge, which is what I’m following at the moment. I’m wrapping up the challenge (currently on Day 25 of the 30 day challenge). This program is designed to help you gradually increase your flexibility and range of motion over the course of 30 days. The best part? The workouts are only 15 minutes long, so they’re easy to fit into even the busiest of schedules.
The Bodi Fitness XB Stretch program is also a great example of how starting small can lead to big gains. By committing to just 15 minutes a day, you’ll be able to see and feel improvements in your flexibility and mobility. These small gains can be incredibly empowering, and they’ll give you the confidence you need to tackle bigger fitness challenges down the road.
Of course, stretching alone won’t get you in peak physical condition, but it’s a great place to start. By incorporating stretching into your daily routine, you’ll be able to ease into fitness and build a solid foundation for your future workouts. So, if you’re looking to improve your flexibility, reduce muscle tension, and increase your overall sense of well-being, why not give the Bodi Fitness XB Stretch 30-day challenge a try? I’d love a workout buddy in this area, so if you’re down, HIT ME UP!
Remember, the key to any successful fitness journey is consistency. So, even if you only have 15 minutes a day to spare, make sure you’re committing to that time and making the most of it. Before you know it, you’ll be amazed at how far you’ve come.
