Have you ever said you loved The Princess Bride so much that you could just eat it up like candy? Yeah, me too!!
From the official Princess Bride Tweasure web store, (click here to check it out!) comes a truly inconceivable treat for your special someone – Picture Perfect Gourmet Chocolates featuring classic scenes from quite possibly the greatest love story ever told. Though of course I MIGHT be biased.
Not only did my husband and I cosplay as Buttercup and Dread Pirate Roberts as one of earliest cosplays while dating, but our wedding had elements of Princess Bride inspired imagery. Yes, the phase “As You Wish” and “This is true love, do you think this happens everyday?” MAY have been used in our wedding invitations, wedding programs and hand bound wedding photograph album.
Here’s a couple of images from our Princess Bride cosplay back in 2009 (ohh, the young nerd love!):
My Thoughts On The Chocolates
These Gourmet Chocolates are brand new to the Princess Bride store. When the product was brought to my attention, and after getting in touch with the lovely folks at princessbridetweasure.com, I realized that these chocolates are the current hot item of the site. After receiving a box myself, I can completely see why!
The box comes with 16 chocolates sporting 4 unique tickle in your tummy images of cute and romantic iconic scenes between Buttercup and Wesley. The edible imagery is sharp and clear. They are almost too pretty to eat! (Almost. I mean, come on. CHOCOLATE.)
The box is sturdy, savable and simply stunning. The textured golden swirl patterned lid makes the logo pop, and the dark brown box it nestles into makes the whole package one that simply reeks of elegance. I’m not one for saving boxes (well, I did save a cigar box once to hold my stamps and junk), but I think I am going to save my Princess Bride chocolate box to tuck into my bookshelf for stashing hidden love letters from my hubby and for random sentimental “tweasure”.
Really, just for the imagery, as a romantic gift, you simply cannot go wrong with this box of chocolates for a fellow Princess Bride fan.
Now on to the taste test!
Simply put, the chocolates are decadent and melt in your mouth delicious! I love that it has white chocolate topping the dark, giving it a wonderful contrast of flavors. It’s not just a plain ol’ box of generic chocolates.
You’d think the themed chocolates would be cheap and gimmicky, but I’m pleased to find that they are actually quality chocolates. The chocolate is molded artfully, free of air bubbles, swirling, defects or uneven surfaces in the individual pieces.
The images on the chocolates are so artfully applied that unlike the “edible photos” you get on specialty cakes or cookies, you cannot perceive a waxy film, the image is inconceivably imperceivable. (As my husband stated in our taste test. He keeps using that word. I don’t think it means what he thinks it means.)
With a great taste, smooth and creamy texture, and a lingering sweetness on the palate, these are a luxurious treat, best served with a glass of wine and an “As You Wish”.
My only only ONLY complaint (which isn’t really a complaint per se, just an observation) it the oddball image of Buttercup and Fezzik. It’s not bad or anything, it’s just that the theme seems to be Buttercup and Wesley. And Fezzik shows up and is just like, “Yo.” If other characters other the romantic couple are going to be featured, I would have liked to see Inigo on some of the chocolates. But, yeah. That’s pretty much the extent of the “negatives” in my review. Hardly a deal breaker.
While these chocolates are a “can’t-go-wrong” gift, you simply HAVE TO check out the other selections at this meca for all things Princess Bride. From shirts to posters to figures to coffee mugs, this page has it all. It was launched a mere five months ago to provide loyal Princess Bride fans a central place to find the newest and widest range of Princess Bride products at the best values. In that time, the store has gathered a huge following, and as it grows, so do the offerings on the page! If you haven’t yet, make sure you check it out!

I know they have the ingredients listed on the website, product page for the chocolates. Which shirts are you interested in? I had to stop looking at the website since I wanted to buy ALL DA THINGS haha.. but yeah, t-shirts from that site is up on my list too.. that and the board game!
I looove The Princess Bride (who doesn’t), I have never heard of the store but I’m going to check it out asap. I can’t believe how amazing those chocolates look, the images are so clear.
