Okay, so I need to confess – I have been losing interest in new Disney movies recently – and that is REALLY saying something because as a our family’s love for all things Disney runs deep. And I wasn’t a fan of the first Inside Out movie… it wasn’t bad, but it also wasn’t great in my experience. But my kids have been BEGGING me to check out this movie (I suspect TikTok previews have something to do with this buzz) and as a mother of two lively pre-teen girls, I figured the relevant theming on this one might just we worth taking a look-see.
So when we heard about the special preview of Inside Out 2 at Hollywood Studios, I figured it was a must visit. As we made our way to the theater, my kids were visibly excited, chattering away about their favorite characters from the first movie and speculating about what the new characters would be like in the new film. My oldest, who is on the cusp of puberty herself, couldn’t stop giggling over the concept art sharing snapshots of the different moods of 13 year old Riley, and we all had fun debating on how you pronounce “ennui”.
I feel like I had already seen much of the preview they shared at this preview (maybe TikTok beat me to the preview and shared the clips??) but what we did see had us all laughing out loud and had my husband and I sharing knowing sidelong glances and grins. Inside Out 2 basically dives deeper into the inner workings of Riley’s mind as she navigates the ups and downs of adolescence. Like the first film, this one looks like it will also blend humor, heart, and a touch of whimsy as we follow Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust on a new journey filled with twists and turns and a whole new cast of emotions / characters.
As parents, Jonathan and I found ourselves nodding along as Riley and her parents navigated the challenges of communication and connection. As the preview ended and the lights came up, the kids (especially my girls) were buzzing with excitement, discussing their favorite moments and speculating about what would happen next in the story.
Sooooo, with that kind of reaction from the kids, now we are kinda stuck having to watch the full movie when it comes to theaters on June 14th! Our tickets already booked for opening night at the AMC theater in Disney Springs, and despite my initial misgivings, I also can’t wait to see Inside Out 2. While Inside Out wasn’t my cup of tea the first time around, seeing my kids reactions is making me want to see it all the more! After all, as Joy would say, there’s no better feeling than sharing a special moment with the ones you love!
Adventure awaits!

This article? It’s got some interesting ideas, definitely. You’ve touched on a few good points, but it feels like there’s more to explore. Digging a bit deeper next time could really add value. On the plus side, you are thinking outside the box, which is great. Your writing style gets the point across, but it could use a bit more energy. The examples are decent, but adding some spice wouldn’t hurt. I’m not saying it’s bad, just that there’s room for improvement. Consider tightening up your arguments and including more compelling facts. You’ve got potential. Keep pushing yourself, and your next piece could be truly impressive. Keep at it! Your next article might just blow me away. Or maybe not. We’ll see.
