So as many of you know, my family and I just rolled into town earlier this month, and our Annual Passes aren’t even a month old. While we have been lifetime Disneyland passholders, this whole WDW passholder thing seems SO MUCH BIGGER somehow! For instance, the Annual Passholder Lounge in EPCOT… while I understand that it is temporary, the whole concept seems SO COOL and so unlike the treatment we received in California.
We have a HUGE LIST of things to do here at Walt Disney World now that we are passholders, and checking out the lounge and picking up our Stitch AP magnet was high up on the list. So today – even though we were feeling a little run down and ragged – we decided to finally pop on over and check it out. What can I say, I can’t resist exclusive perks!
As someone who practically lives and breathes Disney magic, stepping into the Passholder Lounge felt like a mini Club 33, but for us peasant folk. Tucked away in EPCOT at in the Morocco Pavilion (Restaurant Marrakesh to be precise) for a limited time until June 18, 2024, this cozy oasis offers the perfect retreat for Disney regulars seeking a break from the hustle and bustle of the park – and you can pick up an Annual Passholder pin!
The first thing that struck me as I entered the lounge was the blissful blast of cool, refreshing air conditioning. THIS. ALONE. IS. WORTH. IT. Let’s face it – Florida summers are sweltering, and having a dedicated space to chill out and recharge was an absolute godsend. The lounge features tables of comfy seating with plush cushions, a very generous selection of complimentary snacks (we saw chex mix, peanuts and pita crackers when we went) along with ice-cold water and hot moroccan tea with honey. We also saw (but didn’t use) convenient charging stations for mobile devices.
We also got to see Genie taking photos and interacting with guests, and the line was insanely short for such an intimate character meet and greet. It was fun to sit and sip on ice cold water, munch on complimentary snacks and see the Genie making guests giggle during photos. IT’S NICE YA’LL!
Which leaves me feeling like this is something we are collectively get used to, real fast. As a passholder who simply doesn’t have the funds to eat out at sit down restaurants each and every visit, the concept of waiting in lines (and contributing to wait times) for shows or rides just to get some temporary AC and “get out of the heat”…. well, this was such a fantastic concept. A lounge for the regulars to chill out in between bouts of throwing their paychecks at the Mouse… it’s fantastic. (Seriously, what do we have to do to make Disney put one of these in all four parks, year round?!)
After loitering in the lounge, we headed over to Creations Shop, where Passholders can pick up an adorable Stitch magnet. The process was pretty straight forward – walk up, scan your MagicBand and then get your magnet! I had heard that they were only allowing one magnet per household, but it was clearly one per passholder. (Don’t believe everything you read on the internet, lol.)
If you’re an annual passholder be sure to stop by EPCOT in the coming weeks, and carve out some time to experience the magic of the Passholder Lounge for yourself. It’s the perfect way to add a touch of relaxation and some VIP vibes to your day. Until next time, may your days be filled with laughter, love, and all the enchantment Disney has to offer!
Magically yours,
Gingi Freeman
