Alright ladies and gents! We just discovered what is our FAVORITE window service meal in the Magic Kingdom so far and it just happens to be oin one of my favorite lands – the enchanting streets of Main Street, U.S.A!
The allure of Casey’s Corner beckoned us with promises of classic American fare infused with a sprinkle of Disney magic. Did you know that Casey’s Corner is not just a nod to baseball but also to a classic Disney animated short? “Casey at the Bat” is a Disney cartoon from 1946, inspired by the famous poem of the same name. It tells the story of a baseball game featuring a player named Casey. This cartoon served as inspiration for the theme and decor of Casey’s Corner, adding an extra layer of nostalgia and storytelling to the dining experience.
We had high hopes for this eating spot, and it did not disappoint! We strolled into the area right before the parade was about to start and it was a bit of a madhouse – we had to do that annoying circling around looking for a table things, where you try not to bother or harass people still eating. (So. Awkward.) But after a minute or two we finally made solid eye contact with a couple leaving their spot and offering it up to us. (Thank you, dear strangers.)
Now, we always pack in our own snacks for budget eating days, including sodas and chips, so this contributed greatly to this being a delicious and inexpensive spot for our crew. My husband and I decided to split a hot dog (they are one foot long, ya’ll) but we still worried if that would be enough food. But when it came out… oh em gee. Our eyes widened with excitement as we beheld the Chipotle Barbecue All-Beef Foot-Long Hot Dog, a towering masterpiece adorned with pulled pork, slaw, and chipotle barbecue sauce. With each savory bite, we were transported to flavor heaven, the harmonious blend of smoky barbecue and tender beef sending our senses into a frenzy of good old fashioned Americana delight. And you guys – even splitting it between two grown adults we were STUFFED.
Our little ones, ever the discerning connoisseurs of kiddie cuisine, savored every morsel of their hot dogs and mini corn dogs, accompanied by a generous serving of golden fries. And as if the delights of the main course weren’t enough, we decided to indulge in the Instagram worthy decadence of not one, but two Baseball Brownies, a sweet finale to our meal.
Amidst the culinary delights, it was the small moments of Disney magic that truly stole our hearts. A kind cast member, with a sprinkle of pixie dust, bestowed upon our darling Tessa a frozen lemonade after they struck up a conversation in line. It was such a sweet gesture that filled our hearts with warmth and gratitude – I LOVE these pixie dust moments!
And let us not forget the ambiance! Oh, the ambiance! The decor and theme of Casey’s Corner transported us back to a bygone era of baseball glory, reminiscent of Coke Corner in Disneyland (one of my favorite spots to sit with a good book in the off season when I was a castmember in my younger years), yet with its own unique charm inspired by the timeless tale of Casey at the Bat. From the vintage memorabilia to the playful nods to America’s favorite pastime, every detail evoked a sense of nostalgia and whimsy that captivated our imaginations.
So there you have it – Casey Corner is our new go to favorite budget meal at the Magic Kingdom! (But do keep in mind, we haven’t tried them all!) If you’re into splitting meals, or quick cheap eats that taste table service in quality, do check this out!
Bon appétit,
