Day 2!!! Wahoo, I feel like such a champ already!
Weighed in this morning at 162.4, so that’s just shy of half a pound down from my weight the morning before. My stomach wasn’t bloated like it was yesterday before I started the juice cleanse, but it wasn’t exactly skinny either. For some reason this really irritated me. Like, OMG, 24 hours of juice cleansing, why am I not a green goddess YET?!?! Hehe.

First Part of the Day – I am REALLY feeling my coffee and caffeine withdrawals today. I didn’t even WAIT for the headache to start, I just popped an aspirin with my morning juice. I had planned to spend the day doing housework and maybe jazzing up my wedding photography website a bit, but I was feeling rather depressed (not juicing related!) and I was feeling really depleted of energy (totally juicing related). So I just ended up watching TV and neglecting all my responsibilities for ONE SOLID DAY. I cannot REMEMBER the last time I devoted a day to doing nothing but reading, TV watching and snuggling with the kids. I’m not joking.. it felt so strange to just… be.
Oh! I also had a bowel movement, which was just as stinky as the flatulence I had the day before. I decided to be Dr. Google and try to find out what was up in that department and I found various explanations ranging from, “The laxative effects of fruit cause your body to clear out all kinds of backed up gunk and stored toxins, which have a pungent odor.” To, “If you are not used to consuming large amounts of sugar, the rapid increase of sugar in juices cannot be processed adequately by your body and is forced out causing foul smelling bowel movements.” Interesting, I whisper to myself as I sip on Summer Shine, my favorite of the favorite juices.

Middle Part of the Day – I heard that people who juice go through random bursts of energy throughout the day and I GUESS I had a couple but it was hardly the go go go zoom zoom zoom energy I had anticipated. It was more like, “Oh, hey. I don’t mind getting up from my episode of 1958 Zorro to go tear my tantrum throwing toddlers apart.” As the day wore on I became more convinced I was going to get ZERO done today. No. Energy. At. All. I ALMOST gave in and made myself a cup of coffee but decided to be strong. I also started getting some pretty intense food cravings around mid-day. All I wanted – all I could think about – was making a big ol’ salad with mixed greens. The craving was so vivid and intense that I was literally Google shopping heirloom lettuce seeds to daydream about my summer garden where I will eat all the salad, all the time, whenever I want. (As far as cravings go, I guess it wasn’t a terrible one?!)

Last Part of the Day – The hours are sloooooooowly ticking by as I wait impatiently for another juice. I seriously can’t tell if I am genuinely hungry, or just craving solid food. Then I thought, maybe it’s the warmth of food you miss? Before I knew it I was Googling how to make vegetable broth from scratch. How do I even end up on these websites without realizing that I’m heading there?! I’ll never know. But now I’m getting tired, AND cranky. And then… what’s this? Urgent bowel movements. Ugggggh. I had to rush to the bathroom multiple times, and get stuck on the toilet from about 6pm till my bedtime at 10pm. I am pretty sure I emptied out EVERYTHING left in my intestines. I went to bed feeling like today was a major chore, and all I did was sit around watching TV, read, stare at the clock, and drink juice. Still excited about the juice cleanse but now I’m anxiously hoping the end result will be “worth it” if each day is gonna get a little tougher. But still! Only ONE MORE JUICING DAY TO GO!!! Stay tuned….

Did you know Anacin has caffeine in it? It may be better to help with your caffeine withdrawal headaches.
What the heck is that..?
What is Anacin? It’s a brand of painkiller, basically asprin with caffeine in it.
Well, I wouldn’t expect some big changes, but that sounds great for one day, like you can expect more results in the future 🙂
