I learned a valuable lesson this past year, and I am really kicking it into high gear this year. And that is – STOCK UP ON YOUR SEASONAL DECOR AHEAD OF SCHEDULE!!

Here’s how it usually goes down… a season I love (like autumn) will roll around, stores will begin stocking items that I’d prefer to buy new / not second hand – bedding, linens, etc. – and then I’ll realize, I can only stock up on so much with a limited seasonal budget, especially with kids Halloween costumes, October birthdays, and upcoming Christmas gifts to buy.

So instead of waiting for the seasonal crunch and stretching my budget to the max, I’ve decided that for holidays I want to celebrate and decorate to the max, I need to start spacing out my purchases THROUGHOUT THE YEAR!

So here I am, in mid-January, purchasing an autumn duvet so that I can have my bedroom autumn-tastic on DAY 1 of the start of fall! Why a duvet? Personally, I think a duvet offers the easiest swap that makes the biggest impact for seasonal decor changes in the bedroom, and until this year, I’ve never swapped out my bedding to reflect the seasons.. As my husband put it, “Ah, so it looks like the holidays are bleeding into our bedroom this year?” haha!
