I Bought My First Loungefly Backpack and Now I Totally Understand the Hype

Alright, it FINALLY happened. Today, I’m thrilled to share a momentous occasion in every Disney geeks life: I finally got my hands on my very first Loungefly backpack! Cue the confetti cannons and fanfare because when the craze started – I swore I would never jump on this trend. Haha!

Now, for those of you who might be living under a rock (or perhaps just haven’t been to a Disney theme park yet), Loungefly is basically the holy grail of backpacks for Disney regulars and fashionistas. Think of it as the lovechild of style and functionality, with a healthy dose of pop culture thrown in for good measure. While Loungefly isn’t an EXCLUSIVE Disney brand (they make everything from Scooby Doo to Harry Potter and everything in between), Loungefly has been slaying the accessory game and they have a hardcore cult following – ESPECIALLY among the Disney loving crowd. Most of my Disney friends have dozens (not joking – DOZENS) of these backpacks, one for each mood and outfit.

When my family and I were in the process to making the move to Florida, I made a point of introducing my kiddos to the Disney characters we DIDN’T have in California – characters like Figment and Orange Bird. For those of you who aren’t familiar, Orange Bird is like the unofficial mascot of the Florida parks, and while I expected my kids to fall head over heels in love with this little citrus sensation, they assumed my enthusiasm meant that I was obsessed with the little guy. Ever since then, they’ve been on a mission to buy me every Orange Bird piece of merchandise they can get their hands on.

So when I saw that the Character Warehouse got a new shipment of Loungefly backpacks in, and among them was a 2024 Flower and Garden Festival Orange Bird backpack, it was like the stars had aligned. (More backstory: We arrived into Florida during the Flower and Garden Festival!)

This backpack is not just cute as a button; it’s also practical AF. It’s the perfect size for holding all my park day essentials and the quality is impeccable. I’m talking top-notch craftsmanship that could withstand even the most chaotic of Disney crowds. But the part I’m happiest about – I finally feel like I’m part of the “in” crowd. Haha. I FINALLY BELONG IN THE SEA OF LOUNGEFLYS!

Overall, my first Loungefly experience has been nothing short of magical. From the thrill of the hunt to the joy of finally snagging the perfect backpack, it’s safe to say I’ve officially joined the ranks of the Loungefly aficionados.
