As a new home owner, I am always on the lookout for home improvement projects.
Especially ones that are inexpensive, easy and quick to do, and give the biggest room transformation for the money and effort involved.
I am beginning to learn that it is sometimes the overlooked things – like ceilings, trim, baseboards, and the like – that are the magical element that make rooms feel special, and bring positive vibes to the setting of your home. And when huge remodeling projects are not possible or financially feasible, brightening up and personalizing the little details can make a world of difference.
Our tiny master bathroom is a great example. We do not have it in the budget to remodel the shower, toilet, sink, and floors just yet (though it is one of the bazillion things we have planned for the future!), but we decided to brighten up the space with 3D wall paneling from CSI Wall Panels.
CSI Wall Panels sells 3D plant fiber wall panels that are eco-friendly and come in a variety of shapes, styles, patterns, textures and colors. They can be painted into any color of your choice and their light weight and ease of install makes them a huge favorite among homeowners.

Our Experience with the CSI Wall Panels
First off, I have to say that this was just a fun project! The difference is so slight, but so huge at the same time. In just one day, it went from a boring ceiling in a tiny non-descript room, to a room with spark and charm and personality! These wall panels really inject energy into a room!
Just one box of 10 3D MDF wood fiber panels (27 square foot coverage) was enough to cover the ceiling of our little master bathroom. The panels come in a natural wood color, but are paintable.
Our tiny bathroom ceiling before the wall panels. BORING!
We used a combination of adhesive caulk and a nail gun to anchor these light weight panels to the ceiling. We had to cut down some panels to size, and then caulk / fill the corners and edges to cover the gaps before painting. We put on two coats of moisture resistant primer and paint, and TADA!!! Project, done!
The effect is wonderful, the panels pretty much enliven the room instantly. I also like the way the light plays off of these well designed 3D panels. The effect gives uniform depth to the room, and gives a craftsman appearance, and lends a calming atmosphere to the room.
I am also very happy with the fact that these panels are eco-friendly. CSI Wall Panels have multiple 3D wall panel designs to choose from that are created from raw fiber pulp materials that cause minimal or absolutely no damage to the environment.
Overall, these 3D wall panels are a very unique and easy way to change up the appearance of your walls or ceiling. They are a perfect weekend DIY home improvement project, providing a huge décor bang for your buck!
Our tiny bathroom with the wall panels installed. NOT boring anymore!!

Sometimes the little things make such a difference!
Right?!?!? I am anxious to get started on the rest of the room, but the ceiling is a great start!
I actually liked it better before.
Whaaaaat?!?! It was so plain before!!! haha. Looked like a trailer park bathroom, haha
Looks interesting! And like an easy diy project!
It was crazy easy, though I can see it being a pain in the butt without a nail gun….
I love how it turned out Gingi … it looks great. I’d still have to hire someone to put them up a’s I’m afraid of heights xox
I always make my husband do all these jobs for me, haha
Wall panels sound like they would be an easy way to transform the look of a space. Your bathroom turned out great!

Haha, I learned a lot about laying tile on this project that’s for sure! After a few wasted hours of fighting with tools and getting all the panels perfect, Buckley came over and made it look so simple! The actual install took just a few minutes after getting the panels cut to size, which he just cut down with an Exacto knife (unlike me, using a miter saw/ Dremel). Over all, very happy with how this turned out!
Yeah, Buck is kind of our home improvement guru, isnt he? From my perspective = boys did things, worked on the project and it looks epic. ;-P
Also! You did a great job sweetie pie.. thank you for being my husband of awesome! <3
We don’t get such fancy wall paneling here. Love how you have transformed the ceiling.
Yeah, we love it! <3
I am not crafty at all, but dang, ya’ll did your thing! I love this project so much that I’m passing it on to my son who just bought a home and has been doing some redecorating. Kudos and HUGE Hugs
Awww, thanks for the share!!!! Glad you liked the post!
Gingi I love this home project!! Cutest ceiling tile ever. You are so right, it’s the small details that make a room. I’m thinking about putting this in my sunroom? The dated ceiling is SO ugly!! Thanks for sharing this with us. I’m going to share this on my RYG Facebook page cause I bet lots of people don’t know about it =)
Yay, thank you for the share!! I am now eyeing every other room in my house so similar upgrades, haha!
What a fun way to add texture, I like that it seems simple and creates such a unique look.
Yeah, it makes the room have so much more depth! We are super happy with it!
This would be a good idea for hiding damages ceilings and it looks quite good.
