Embracing the Year-Round Front Door Wreath

Now that the holidays are over, I have ditched my gorgeous Christmas wreath on the front door and replaced it with a simple green boxwood front door wreath.

This is a totally new thing for me. I am the classic wreath-on-the-door-only-for-the-holidays gal. But I’ve moved into a neighborhood with houses close together, that all look the same and I’ve realized – the houses on the block with year-round wreaths really look WELCOMING. They look warm and bright and friendly and make me smile.

It kind of clicked. Wreaths are meant to spread warmth and joy and cheer. Why not embrace this décor item all year round?

Luckily, right before the holidays I had found a lovely boxwood wreath at Hobby Lobby that will look good year-round. It looks great as a simple green wreath, but has ample room to jazz it up with little seasonal touched (hearts for Valentine’s Day, beads for Mardi Gras, eggs for Easter, etc.)

And even though I am completely new to this front porch refresh hack, I’ve already discovered what a difference it makes to help transition your porch between the seasons. The front door really anchors your whole look (it is generally the focal point, after all) and setting the tone with the wreath is just the simplest and most cost-effective hack. I’m stupid excited over this concept, haha.
