Happy Easter! Here’s 10 Awesome Bible Verses for Resurrection Sunday!
6 April, 20153 Min Read
Today is Easter! Christ has died, Christ has risen, and Christ will come again!!
I hope all of you are having a blessed day! This Easter, I’d like to share with you lovely folks some of the best Bible verses associated with Jesus’ resurrection. (All verses are represented in The Message translation.)
He is not here. He is risen, just as He said! – Matthew 28:6
What a God we have! And how fortunate we are to have Him, this Father of our Master Jesus! Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we’ve been given a brand-new life and have everything to live for. – 1 Peter 1:3
I gave up all that inferior stuff so I could know Christ personally, experience His resurrection power, be a partner in His suffering, and go all the way with Him to death itself. If there was any way to get in on the resurrection from the dead, I wanted to do it. I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. – Philippians 3:10-12
They found the entrance stone rolled back from the tomb, so they walked in. But once inside, they couldn’t find the body of the Master Jesus. – Luke 24:2-3
If we get included in Christ’s sin-conquering death, we also get included in His life-saving resurrection. We know that when Jesus was raised from the dead it was a signal of the end of death-as-the-end. Never again will death have the last word. When Jesus died, He took sin down with him, but alive He brings God down to us. From now on, think of it this way: Sin speaks a dead language that means nothing to you; God speaks your mother tongue, and you hang on every word. You are dead to sin and alive to God. That’s what Jesus did. – Romans 6:8-11
The sacrificed Jesus made us fit for God, set us right with God. – Romans 4:25
He said, “You can see now how it is written that the Messiah suffers, rises from the dead on the third day, and then a total life-change through the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed in his name to all nations – starting from here, from Jerusalem! – Luke 24:46-47
There is a nice symmetry in this: Death initially came by a man, and resurrection from death came by a man. Everybody dies in Adam; everybody comes alive in Christ. – Romans 6:9
His unique identity as Son of God was shown by the Spirit when Jesus was raised from the dead, setting Him apart as the Messiah, our Master. Through Him we received both the generous gift of His life and the urgent task of passing it on to others who receive it by entering into obedient trust in Jesus. – Romans 1: 4-5
“You don’t have to wait for the End. I am, right now, Resurrection and Life. The one who believes in me, even though he or she dies, will live. And everyone who lives believing in me does not ultimately die at all. Do you believe this?” – John 11:25-26
I have mixed feelings on The Message translation, as I think it’s a little TOO thought for thought.. but sometimes it just NAILS IT. hehe. When sharing Scripture with others I find I often fall back on this translation, though I’m partial to the NIV!
That’s a good one! I’m glad you liked the verses I posted.. it’s all good reading! There’s a reason the Bible holds the world record for “best seller”. 😉
Happy Eater for you, my sweet friend, and your beutiful family. I loved you shared with is the real meaning of Easter. We need to think and pray more. I personally always find relief in faith.
have a blessed day.

I hope you had a wonderful Easter Gingi. Thank you for this, I missed church yesterday for the first time in a very long time and it made me so sad. My husband’s grandmother’s funeral was Saturday. We had to drive 5 hours to the funeral on Friday (missed that service too) and then home yesterday. She was 95 and lived a healthy life until one week ago, such a blessed life. Anyway, I loved reading all of the verses, they made me feel better about missing church.
I am so sorry to hear about your husbands grandmother.. but it sounds like she lived a very long, healthy life! And I am so glad that my post served as a kind of pick me up for you! This was our first Easter service with our WHOLE new little family, so I was really hoping it would be this glorious, transformative thing.. but it turns out they cancelled the child care for ages 2 and under (we had service in an auditorium since the regular church building can’t house the number of people that show up for Easter services!) so we had a VERY hyper Tessa and VERY hungry Thyme, and between my husband taking Tessa out of the auditorium to run around like a wild child, and me stepping out to feed Thyme, we basically didn’t get to sit side by side AT ALL, and we missed well over half the sermon.. haha!! But it was still a fun day!! 😉
I love the Message translation, but I always forget to check it when looking up verses. Thanks for this, Gingi! Perfect and timely verses. I hope you had a beautiful and meaningful Easter!
