I remember that short five minute phone call when Jonathan was in Navy Boot Camp in Illinois. As I paced the kitchen in eager anticipation for news – any news – about his upcoming graduation and A School location, he announced, “It’s been confirmed, we’re going to Pensacola, Florida!”
I was initially disappointed. Florida meant a cross country road trip with five cats and a dog. Oh, and a big eight months pregnant belly.
“But don’t worry honey. It’s only going to be for about three months.”
Well. Those three months turned into eight. A series of delayed classes, a beautiful baby girl being born and further delaying classes, and, well, still more delayed classes resulted in our lengthened stay. And you know what? I’m not complaining! I’m actually going to miss this town! It’s somehow become home over the last few months.
So today was bittersweet. It marks the end of my husband’s Aviation Technician I Level A School and the end of our time in Pensacola. But it also marks a huge achievement for my handsome husband. I couldn’t be more proud of him! He has worked and studied so hard.
Jonathan has been diligent in his studies, and yet has still been a devoted husband and a doting father – to both our daughter AND our furry babies. (He’s pretty much covered in cats and baby whenever he’s home!) While being a super dad and a dreamboat husband, he has graduated in the top 5 of his I-Strand class – the equivalent of a two year college degree, shoved into the span of five months. All while wearing sexy sailor pants!
I am one proud Navy wife!
And NOW!… We hurry up and wait. We are still waiting on hard copy orders before we can actually pack up and move. So cheers to another week (or more!) in Pensacola. It’s been a wild ride so far and it’s only just the beginning!
Thank you so much darling! I could never have gotten through this without your constant love and support! Even through all the frustrating, needless drama you were my strength and comfort. I love you so very much wife of mine!
Everything is crazy up in the air with our upcoming move.. but I’ll get back to you on that when we’re all settled.. which, at this point, I have NO IDEA when that will be? Hopefully a month? lol.. and thanks!
I was just thinking about y’all this morning and was wondering if y’all had gotten orders yet! So excited that he is finally done with school! My husband graduates in 2 weeks and we haven’t heard anything about orders yet either. I just keep saying “In Navy Time” because if they worked on my scheduled he would have had orders before leaving for bootcamp! LOL! I can’t wait to hear where y’all will be headed! And am praying the Navy speeds up just a bit in issuing orders!
Well, he got to pick his orders six weeks before graduating, so we’ve known we’re being stationed in Lemoore, California for about a month and half. We’re just waiting on the hard orders so we can actually, ya know.. LEAVE. lol! Looks like Jonathan is one of the very last ones in his class to get his orders. 🙁 We’re still waiting! Congrats on your upcoming graduation! Let me know when you know where you’re going!
We are actually thinking we might get Pensacola for our first assignment. That’s what we asked for at least and he was told that it’s a strong possibility. All the other classes have been getting overseas assignments but we know that won’t be us. The only thing up in the air is C school. It’s not common for his job but he has been hand selected for it so they are waiting to see if there is any spots open.
We are very proud of our son by marriage! Hurry up & wait is right!
I feel a little weird.. I mean.. we’d had TODAY locking on our calendar for so long! Now the sitting and waiting is.. unnerving?
Thank you so much darling! I could never have gotten through this without your constant love and support! Even through all the frustrating, needless drama you were my strength and comfort. I love you so very much wife of mine!
I love your MORE! Thank you for being my WORLD! LET’S GET MARRIED AGAIN!!!
Yea congratulations Jon! I’m happy for you three! And me (hopefully I can see you three)!!!! 🙂
We have NO IDEA how long we’ll be in the area, but I’ll make sure we hang out again if we’ll be here longer that a week more!!
Yay!!!! Congratulations Jonathan!!!! Can’t wait for your whole family to get to CA. Hurry up Navy!!!
The Navy never hurries. As a matter of principle. lol
Woot! Congrats!
Thanks!!
Congrats! Now the real Navy begins! I was wondering if you wanted to review one of my products! Let me know!

Oh that’s awesome! I bet y’all are chomping at the bit to get back to CA! I will definitely keep you posted on ours!
Do you know where you MIGHT get stationed? Jonathan had a pretty good idea where he might go, after watching the classes before him get their orders…
