Laser Quest Fresno Hosts Lemoore NAS for Epic Battle
26 February, 20155 Min Read
As part of my “Family Friendly Things To Do in the Central Valley” blog series (keep an eye out for the master list, coming soon!) I reached out to Laser Quest in Fresno, California to ask about featuring their business on my blog to share with you all.
Having grown up near Fullerton, my husband was well acquainted with Laser Quest and is an avid fan. When questioned by his co-workers on the Navy base who just got stationed in Lemoore about what there is to do in the area, he kept pressing for a trip to Laser Quest.
While I had been focusing on “fun for the whole family” activities (which this certainly qualifies as!) I hadn’t even thought to look for “fun for the guys and gals in the barracks” options! When I ran my post idea by the amazing folks at Laser Quest, they not only agreed to host Domestic Geek Girl for an evening of Laser Quest, but extended the invitation to my husband’s entire aviation shop on Lemoore NAS!
Needless to say, an evening of fun and epic battles ensued. But first! A little more about Laser Quest!
About Laser Quest Fresno
Laser Quest is located in Fresno, California, about a 55 minute drive from Lemoore NAS. It’s centrally located to lots of fun eating and entertainment options, making it perfect for a day outing.
While you may think you’ve played laser tag before, let me assure you – Laser Quest takes laser tag to a WHOLE new level. With a complete immersion environment of neon lights in a multi-level maze complete with fog, intense battle music and oversized guns that would put any first person shooter video game to shame, this is something you need to experience to fully “get”.
The former Disneyland castmember in me was extremely pleased with the detail and quality of the full immersion environment. You’re not in Fresno anymore, you’re suddenly in a gritty glowing battlefield, where the only objective is to shoot all da peoples and come out victorious. Can we say WIN?!
While laser tag appeals to anyone, of any age, the 80’s-esque neon industrial décor just speaks to my generation like no other. Hey people my age, remember that scene, in the 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles live action movie, where the teens are all hanging out in Shredders underground base, where it’s all chain link, grates, pillars, pipes and glowing lights? Yeah, THAT.
While I sat out the game (come on, I’m 8 months pregnant!) I had a blast sneaking around, spying on the epic battle, and listening to the Navy guys (and gal!) duke it out amongst themselves. Not sure how this stack up to boot camp battlestations, but the guys seems to have a BLAST!
Useful Things to Know Before You Go:
– Each game is about 15 minutes (the entire session, from donning gear to handing out score cards takes roughly 30 minutes), and the time FLIES! Plan on allowing for at least 2 games, possibly a third if your group has the stamina.
– When you pay for your games, you choose a code name – pretty much whatever you want to be called. This is perfect for the gamers, but also makes for some fun interactions and ongoing jokes. (No one likes being bested by “Barbie Girl” or “Bieber Lover”.)
– You WILL come out sweating, so dress down and appropriately. Also consider bringing something to stay hydrated. I was frankly AMAZED at how the guys were all drenched in sweat after just ONE game.
– The staff and business is extremely military family friendly, offering military discounts for individual memberships. If you’re in the Central Valley for any length of time, I’d rank a membership here up there with a membership to the Fresno Zoo.
Part of the fun of Laser Quest is the extremely detailed scorecard they give you at the end of each game. The guys spent almost as long poring over their cards as they did PLAYING the game, haha!

Have you played laser tag at Laser Quest before? Interested in checking it out? Share below! (When you visit, be sure to let them know Domestic Geek Girl sent you!)
Wow, awesome pix! It looks like you put out a casting call for good lookin’ guys and gal to model/act in a epic future gun battle scene! The one close up of the young guy looks like he’s the next big action figure, and that little gal needs to be the next Sarah Connor! Good job. Just think, in no time at all your little girls are going to be playing this with mommy and daddy!
LOL, when I was taking pictures I was like, “You guys! Be hardcore!!” But they could NOT wipe those cheesy grins of their faces, haha!! It was too much fun. Can’t wait till our little ones are old enough to join us in a game. I will NOT go easy on them. 😉
You have so many good ideas what to do!!!! Even if it’s not likely that I ever will visit Central Valley, I like to read what’s going on there in your posts!!
Yeah.. you should have heard the Navy guys giggling like little kids while running around.. I was grinning from ear to ear the entire time listening to them being dorks!
Love your pictures here. They look super intergalactic! My husband loves laser tag and I’ve been meaning to give it a try for quite some time now. Looks fun! 🙂
LOL, yeah… about 8 years ago! (Man how time flies!!!) I worked in their photography department, when they first started doing private meet and greets with Mickey and character breakfasts!
It really was!! Some of the funnest times in my life! It was also in Southern California that I met my husband! I would work for Disney again in a heartbeat. It was a childhood dream come true!
Fantastic pictures Gingi!!! This looks like so much fun. My son, my husband, and his friends used to do this when the boy was in middle school. I’m actually thinking we should make this part of his 21st birthday party in May! Thanks for the great idea. 🙂
I really wish we had a laser tag place here in the UK If so, I am a sucker for these things 😀 You are so lucky! The graphics / Interior is AMAZING! Loved reading about this Gingi! <3

I have seen laser tag on a couple of popular television shows before and always think the game looks very fun! Thanks for covering information on this so I know what to expect if I got the chance to try it one day!
OMG this looks like so much fun! And your pictures are fantastic! I’d take this over paintball any day. I played paintball once and it was so painful I doubt I’ll do it again. This looks like a great alternative!
I have never played paintball, but I have played airsoft a couple times.. SUPER PAINFUL!! I got shot on the trigger finger once and I had a huge blood blister for weeks! Laser tag is FAR MORE FUN in my opinion lol
