Hello friends! So those of you who are subscribed to my newsletter have already heard buuuuut!…..
WE’RE OFFICIALLY ON THE ROAD TO CALIFORNIA!!!
We spent the entire day Saturday packing up the apartment with the help of some slave labor / friends, and then we worked ourselves silly scrubbing walls and cleaning appliances and trying to earn back some of our security deposit until the wee hours of the morning. With the uHaul solidly packed downstairs, we camped out in sleeping bags on the floor of our old bedroom, my hubby and I all huddled up with the baby, the dog and our five cats.
We woke up at the crack of dawn to a mini topical thunderstorm pelting us as we loading the last little things into the car. It was raining when I first drove into Florida 7 months pregnant, and it was raining as I left the sunshine state 9 months later with my baby daughter. Man, what a ride.
Sunday (yesterday) we drove all day in the rain (and through flash floods in Louisiana!) till we got to Dallas, Texas. Today, we visited Roswell, New Mexico (more on that in a future post!) and at the moment I am tapping away at my husbands laptop in a shabby “we allow pets but we didn’t state how many” hotel room in Santa Fe. I am tired, and achey, and brain fried. I’m having trouble keeping my thoughts together just to tap out this “what’s up post”. Sooooo, basically, ADVENTURE!!!
We’re planning on taking our time along a couple of scenic and historic touristy spots the rest of the way, but we are slowly and surely making our way to our new (old) home. God is SO GOOD! I can’t wait to share our “Navy Story” with you guys soon.
But until then keep us in your travel prayers, drivers be cray cray on the road!
Take some pix of that beautiful baby in all the States you go through! Be safe, Godspeed!
You have to let me know when you get here!
