I wanted to capture some black and white maternity pictures before the madness of Jonathan’s graduation and moving to Pensacola and all that jazz hit. I’m only 30 weeks, but I don’t know if I’ll get another chance to do these types of photos before Tessa is due. So I made very very VERY last minute plans to set up a mini ghetto bed sheet / table lamp DIY photography studio in my friend Bree’s dining room. The lovely Eliza, who did my maternity photos with Jonathan in the Sequoias, took over cameras again.
Since we were going to go through all the trouble of setting up a “studio” I figured I’d take some pictures of my girls as well. And since we were taking photos, we figured we may as well make it a girls night and go all out with a Fresh Strawberry and Citrus Sangria and finger foods and the works. Then we invited some other gals – and it turned into a last minute (like, planned that very day) party.
While ghetto rigging the icky warm tungsten lighting was a pain in the butt, we made do with what we had, and had a blast while doing it. This was my first real “girls night” since Jonathan left for boot camp. Well, I had a *kind of* girls night at Belle’s with the High School Musical marathon, but then Thor ate my couch and made me paranoid to leave my animals alone overnight again.
Anyway, I’ll post some follow up posts of my maternity shots, and some of the other gals images as I edit them!
Great read! !!Impromptu party well done!!!!!
I thought so too! Thanks!
