Hey lovelies! Let’s talk about COLOR! Color is splashed all around you, and like it or not, it affects your daily life in many ways. Heightening your awareness about color will help you to use it effectively to enhance your health and well-being.
Wherever you go, you are surrounded by colors that heal, invigorate, harmonize or relax you. And it happens consciously and unconsciously. For instance, colors that are associated with a particular holiday – such as Christmas or Halloween – might immediately remind you of wonderful times shared with loved ones, or you may just get some subtle warm and fuzzies without consciously making the full connection WHY. Other colors may evoke visions of natural elements such as the sun, ocean, grass or roses.
Along with memory and experience associations, every color also creates its own vibration, and each color vibration will stimulate a different response within you. This experience can and usually is unique for each individual. Once you determine HOW each color affects YOUR energy and emotions, you will be able to make powerful choices to influence your life in a more positive way. Because ultimately YOU have control of the colors in your clothes, food and your home.
Using different colors can influence your mood. Soft pastels calm while vibrant reds stimulate. Orange tends to excite, while blue, green and lavender tend to calm and relax. Soft yellow uplifts, pink softens, and green often provides a healing touch.
You can integrate colors with intention and meaning into your wardrobe and environment to immediately uplift your spirit or accentuate a desired feeling.

Experiment With a New Color
I was recently challenged to experiment by integrating a new color into my home and / or wardrobe to see how the new color moves and influences my mood and emotions. The challenge goes something like this:
If you notice that black is the mainstay in your clothing, make a conscious choice to pick a new colorful clothing piece to brighten up your wardrobe (or vice versa). Be intentional about the new color you choose (what feeling, mood, thoughts are you trying to evoke?) and try to find something just outside your usual or comfort zone.
I personally tend to wear very muted, dark, earthy tones for my go-to clothing colors. My closet is filled with grays, browns and dark greens. So I made a list of the colors that I never wear / don’t currently have in my closet or in my home, and then I went over what their colors mean and what they evoke in me. Some colors I love, but just choose not to wear for aesthetic reasons, (for instance, I tend to avoid yellows as they don’t seem to flatter my skin tone), but there are plenty of colors and shades that I do look good in, but very rarely wear.
I decided upon bringing in some more purple elements into my home and into my wardrobe as it’s a color I enjoy, and the color “language” and meaning is one that speaks to me – purple is known to enhance and stimulate intuition, devotion, respect, peace and spirituality. (Ironically, while I don’t have anything purple in my home, it’s one of my favorite crystal colors – amethyst is a favorite of mine!)
I’ve recently brought home a super soft purple throw blankets and pillows, along with some cute tops with purple accents and colors. While bringing a new-to-me color into my surroundings wasn’t this great big seismic shift, it has been a fun thought and energy experiment, to gauge how the colors in my surroundings and on my person changes my perceptions, moods and thoughts. And it HAS been a subtle, but noticeable shift, brightening up my space and bringing a sense of expansion and depth to my day.
Whether you are into the science and psychology of color, or even a skeptic regarding how deep the woo woo goes, it’s hard to deny that changing the colors in your environment also changes the energy in your environment.
The energy of your environment influences the way you feel, think, work and play.
Since you are continually affected by the energy around you, it’s important to be mindful and intentionally choose the energy we bring into our lives. Because at the end of the day, you CAN be intentional and choose energy that supports your emotions and your mindset. If you’d like to join me in this fun color experiment and be intentional with your personal color palette, here are some basic color guidelines to keep in mind:
The Energetic Language of Color
- Purple stimulates and enhances intuition, devotion, respect, peace and spirituality.
- Red stimulates and enhances passion, courage, power, motivation, fame and wealth.
- Pink stimulates and enhances love, sweetness, happiness, tenderness and enticement.
- Orange stimulates and enhances enthusiasm, joy, exuberance, interaction, fun and captivation.
- Green stimulates and enhances harmony, new beginnings, prosperity, nature, growth and healing.
- Yellow stimulates and enhances optimism, focus, communication, inspiration and fidelity.
- Gold stimulates and enhances wealth, wisdom, luxury, abundance and influence.
- Blue stimulates and enhances imagination, calmness, serenity, relaxation and compassion.
- Brown stimulates and enhances solidity, warmth, practicality, diligence, reliability and patience.
- Black stimulates and enhances strength, elegance, protection, sophistication, intelligence and shrewdness.
- White stimulates and enhances purity, innocence, faith, benevolence, honesty and grace.
Every color, just like every circumstance, thought, place or person, will either energize you, or deplete you. Color can and does affect you in a myriad of ways, and it’s up to YOU to decide whether it will expand or contract your energy field. There are no right or wrong colors… it’s all up to you! You get to choose, you get to curate your experience, and you get to manifest the life you want.

I’m glad you enjoyed! <3
I agree that color can really have an effect on our moods. That is one reason why I choose to have a colorful wardrobe over wearing black all the time. I find it really does make me happier.
It is interesting to see how it affects us in subtle (and sometimes not so subtle!) ways!
Colors can have a significant impact on our mood. Thanks for sharing these color guidelines.

Same! I’m glad you found it helpful!
I have few favorite colors and wear them constantly. Very interesting post.
I think it’s fairly normal to have our favorites… I notice bright colors are out of my comfort zone, but fun to wear!
The colors on that chair are so beautiful together. And, I adore the colors in your top as well!

This is an interesting post. I’m not really a fan of bright colors. I tend to go for colors that fits my skin color.
