Hey there, Gingi here, and I have some exciting news to share! Today, I embarked on a journey towards a straighter, more confident smile… I finally took the leap and purchased Byte invisible teeth aligners. And let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride already!
First of all, let me give you a little background on my teeth situation. I’ve always had pretty large spaces between my teeth, and while I’ve tried to not let it hinder me in any way, I can’t help but try to hide my teeth while laughing, or show too much teeth in pictures while smiling, etc.. I have wavering between ignoring my teeth to learning to embrace them and even made a few toothy jokes along the way. However, as I’ve gotten older, and have begun to embrace the concept that we can have, do and be ANYTHING we want in this life, I’ve begun to think about my smile as just another area of my life that I get to choose how I want to live. I want to have a smile I can be proud of, so I’ve decided to give these invisible aligners a shot!
So, here I am on day one, and let me just say, it’s been an experience. The aligners fit snugly over my teeth, which is great for straightening them out, but not so great for talking. I feel like I’m lisping like a cartoon character, and it’s taking all my willpower not to burst out laughing every time I speak.
But the big issue is the discomfort. The aligners are definitely doing their job, but it feels like I have a sentient film of plastic trying to push my teeth into submission. It’s like a giant bear hug in my mouth I can’t escape. My teeth are feeling super sensitive and I imagine I’ll be living off of soup and mashed potatoes for the next few weeks.
Obviously it’s too early to tell, but I’m hoping it’ll all be worth it. I’m excited to see the progress my teeth will make with these aligners, and I can’t wait to finally have a smile without spaces and gaps.
So, stay tuned for more updates on my Byte invisible aligner journey. Who knows what hijinks and shenanigans I’ll get up to next? Maybe I’ll try to sing “She Sells Seashells” or attempt to recite the alphabet backwards. Either way, I’ll be doing it with an increasingly straight smile on my face (and a slight lisp).
