One of the things I low key pride myself on, is the “How do you DO it?A” comments I get whenever my living room is themed and refreshed for each new holiday season.
Trust me, I know how hard it can be to keep up with the latest holiday decorating trends. Between taking care of the kids, cooking meals, and running errands, finding the time and money to redecorate your living room can seem like an impossible task. However, there is a simple and cost-efficient decorating hack that can help you keep your home looking fresh each season, and it’s the one thing that I think give me my holiday decorating edge: it’s swapping out your throw pillow covers!
Throw pillow covers are an easy way to add color and texture to your living room without breaking the bank. By changing out your pillow covers each season, you can give your living room a whole new look without having to buy new furniture or decor.
Here are some color ideas for various seasons to help get you started:
Fall:
– Warm, earthy tones like rust, mustard yellow, and deep red
– Rich jewel tones like emerald green, sapphire blue, and amethyst purple
– Cozy textures like wool, faux fur, and chunky knit
Winter:
– Cool blues and grays for a wintery feel
– Metallics like silver and gold for a touch of glamour
– Soft fabrics like velvet and chenille for a cozy vibe
Spring:
– Pastel colors like baby pink, lavender, and mint green
– Floral prints for a fresh and feminine look
– Light, airy fabrics like linen and cotton
Summer:
– Bright, bold colors like coral, turquoise, and sunny yellow
– Tropical prints like palm leaves and hibiscus flowers
– Lightweight fabrics like cotton and seersucker for a breezy feel
Now that you have some color ideas, simply take note of the dimensions of your pillow cores (I have 16x16s on my front porch, 18x18s and 20x20s on my couch, and 26x26s on my bed, for instance) and then either order your covers online, in stores, or even thrift for them! Easy peasy!

Next time I read a blog, I hope that it does not fail me as much as this particular one. After all, I know it was my choice to read, however I truly thought you would have something interesting to talk about. All I hear is a bunch of complaining about something you can fix if you were not too busy looking for attention.
